NEW ZEALAND CERTIFICATE IN INFRASTRUCTURE WORKS (CONTRACT MANAGEMENT)

This qualification has replaced the National Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Contract Management) Level 5 (NZQA Ref: 1653).

CORE SKILLS COVERED:

Carrying out contract estimating, tendering and other contractual procedures:

  • Safety and quality assurance
  • Recommending a bid/no bid decision for an infrastructure works contract
  • Performing estimating for an infrastructure works contract
  • Preparing and submitting a tender
  • Completing the requirements for a preferred infrastructure works contract tender

Interpreting and managing infrastructure works contracts:

  • Understanding the types of contracts used for infrastructure works
  • Interpreting the components of contract documents and identifying the information required to deliver on a contract
  • Understanding relationship management pertaining to the contract
  • Applying knowledge of bid methodology and cost structures to contract planning
  • Developing, monitoring and reporting on the progress of the contract (including schedules, financials, KPIs, risk monitoring, engaging in box meetings)
  • Negotiating and managing a subcontractor agreement
  • Communicating with clients on contract management matters
  • Producing close out documentation
