CORE SKILLS COVERED:

  • Ensuring that health and safety requirements are met, and correct lifting and elevating procedures are maintained when undertaking work in substation maintenance
  • Applying knowledge of electricity supply, electrical networks, New Zealand legislation, regulations and electrical codes of practice to substation maintenance
  • Applying a range of skills and knowledge of mechanical engineering and electrical theory and processes to substation maintenance
  • Applying a range of communication procedures and processes relevant to work in the field of substation maintenance

This qualification replaced the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Sub Station Maintainer) (Level 4).
