Electricity Supply: Understanding how the Electricity Act, regulations and industry rules and guides govern industry practice. Competently applying knowledge to tasks within the Electricity Supply Industry with appropriate supervision

Telecommunications: Working safely on telecommunications assets on or near electrical structures

CORE SKILLS COVERED:

  • Ensuring that health and safety, regulatory and legislative requirements are met, while undertaking the work of Utility Arboriculture
  • Applying skills, knowledge and following industry standards and procedures when working as a Utility Arborist around electricity supply power lines and cables
  • Applying a range of communication procedures and processes relevant to the occupation of a Utility Arborist.

Plus the skills in one of the following optional strands:
Insulated Tool Work: Using insulating tools, plant and equipment, when working as a Utility Arborist around electricity supply power lines and cables.

This qualification has replaced the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Utility Arborist) (Level 2) with an optional strand in Insulated Tool Work, the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Vegetation Control) (Level 3), and the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Vegetation Control) (Level 4).
