This is an entry level qualification. It is suitable for all entrants to the industry, whether they are working in a trade and technical role, or in an administrative capacity within the generation, distribution, transmission, Telecommunications or retail sectors of the Electricity Supply Industry.

This qualification has replaced the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) (Level 4).

IS THIS QUALIFICATION FOR YOU?

This is an intermediate level qualification. It is suitable for line mechanics working in the distribution sector of the Electricity Supply Industry, installing, maintaining and replacing electricity distribution network equipment. On successful completion of the qualification, graduates will be able to work safely to industry standards, taking responsibility for their own work and that of others.

TRANSMISSION LINE MAINTENANCE

NEW ZEALAND CERTIFICATE IN ELECTRICITY SUPPLY (TRANSMISSION LINE MAINTENANCE) (LEVEL 4) WITH STRANDS IN LINE MECHANICS, AND STRUCTURE MAINTENANCE

This qualification has replaced the National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Transmission) (Level 4) with optional strands in Optional Works Skills (E1 (0)), and Optional De-energised Work Skills (E3).
