Hamilton April 24 2018: Working long hours during the day and studying at night has paid off for a young Hamilton employee in the water industry.
Dylan Samson works for Allens United Drainage & Earthworks in Hamilton and has come a long way since joining the team in late 2014 after finishing at Cambridge High School.
His impressive self-determination, commitment and now leadership skills are shining through and his achievements were recognised by winning a Connexis Trainee of the Year award at the weekend. (Connexis is the Industry Training Organisation (ITO) for New Zealand’s Infrastructure industries).
Dylan already has some industry training qualifications to his name and is now working towards completing a NZ Certificate in Pipe Installation (Level 4). This qualification leads to Civil Trade Certification, which recognises skilled tradespeople in Civil Infrastructure.

Dylan’s Connexis award was presented as part of the annual CCNZ awards recognising excellence in the industry. An award that he says he’s both really thankful and humbled to receive.
