The Manaaki Fund has been created to help ākonga (learners) to reach their career goals. The purpose of this fund is to support ākonga so they can continue with their training, despite challenging times or changes in circumstances. 

This fund is available to all active Connexis | Te Pūkenga learners with the purpose of providing financial support for those in situations of hardship that are impacting progress within their programmes.

All applications will be considered by Connexis | Te Pūkenga and the outcome will be communication to the applicant by the indicated announcement date for each application round. Connexis may request additional information from the applicant or from their Customer Service Account Manager (CSAM).

Key Dates

Round 1:

  • Applications open Friday 15th September - 6th October
  • Successful applicants announced - 20th October

Round 2:

  • Applications open Friday 27th October - 17th November
  • Successful applicants announced - 1st December

Terms, Conditions & Eligibility

  • 6-month minimum as a learner with Connexis | Te Pūkenga
  • Value of fund will be issued in one lump sum deposit of $500.00
  • Application must be validated by a Connexis Customer Service Account Manager (CSAM) to ensure criteria is met
  • Applicant must be able to prove ownership of the nominated bank account if requested
  • Applicant information will be confidential unless the applicant as agreed to a follow-up for media purposes
  • All applications must be submitted by the submission cut off date.
  • Cannot have received a Manaaki Fund grant previously.
